§1 Who holds your information
South West Leads Ltd, trading as Clause & Effect, is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Company number: 15080623. Registered office: 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU.
Email hello@clauseandeffect.co.uk with any question about your information or to exercise your rights.
§2 What we collect
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any contact or firm details you choose to include. If an enquiry form is enabled, it collects your name, firm name, email, phone, office postcode, services, membership and whether you offer home visits. A waiting-list form, when enabled, collects your name, email, firm name and the area you are interested in.
Calendar bookings, when enabled, collect the details you enter into the booking service and your chosen appointment time. An enquiry may also include your area-check result, the page URL and campaign parameters beginning with utm_. Please do not put information about your own will, assets, health or clients into an agency enquiry.
§3 Area checks
When you submit the area checker, your browser sends the postcode or postcode district to Postcodes.io to obtain its district and administrative place name. The provider also receives the IP address needed to respond to that request. We compare the returned district with our area list.
We keep the current result in the page while you use it. It is included in an enquiry only if you choose to submit an enabled form. An area check by itself does not add you to a contact list or send a sales enquiry.
§4 Why we use it and our lawful bases
- Answering an enquiry and arranging a call: our legitimate interest in responding to requests about our services. Where you ask us to take steps towards an agreement, we may also rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- Providing a service to a client: to perform the agreement, manage the relationship and meet applicable legal duties.
- Area checks: our legitimate interest in answering the availability question you have asked.
- Waiting-list notifications: your consent, given when you ask to be told if an area opens up. You can withdraw it by emailing us.
- Optional analytics and advertising: your consent. Rejecting them does not prevent you from using the site or contacting us.
§5 Providers and international processing
Our hosting services, including OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare, process the connection and security information needed to deliver this website. Postcodes.io handles the lookup described above. Email providers handle correspondence. Fonts are served with this website rather than requested from Google Fonts.
HighLevel processes enabled enquiry forms and calendar bookings on our behalf. These integrations are not shown while they are unconfigured. If Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel is configured, Google or Meta receives measurement data only after you accept optional cookies. We do not send your form answers, email, phone number or full postcode to those trackers.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where a transfer needs safeguards, we must use an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. You can contact us for the relevant provider and transfer details. We may also disclose information when required by law or to advisers who need it for a lawful purpose.
§6 How long information is kept
We keep enquiry and booking details while dealing with your request and for as long afterwards as needed for a continuing business relationship, relevant legal duties or resolving a dispute. The criteria are the purpose of the record, whether the enquiry is still active, and any legal retention requirement. When a record is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Waiting-list details are kept while you want to remain on the list. Ask us to remove them at any time. We do not keep postcode lookups in a marketing database merely because you use the checker. Optional-cookie choices on this device expire after 180 days; you can change them sooner using Cookie settings when tracking is configured.
§7 Cookies and measurement
If at least one tracker is configured, a banner offers equally prominent Accept and Reject buttons. Trackers are not loaded before Accept. If no tracker is configured, there is no optional-cookie banner and neither tracker loads. Your choice is remembered on this device. Cookie settings lets you change it; rejecting after acceptance stops further tracking from this site and removes the first-party tracking cookies it can access.
Hosting services may use essential security or connection cookies. These serve the website or protect it rather than measure advertising. You can also manage stored cookies in your browser.
§8 Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
These rights have legal conditions and exceptions. Contact hello@clauseandeffect.co.uk. We may need enough information to confirm your identity and understand the request. We do not use this agency enquiry process to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.
§9 Complaints and changes
Please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
We may update this notice if the website or our handling of information changes. This notice was updated on 20 October 2026.
